The Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Shipper/Receiver will have the responsibility of efficient product flow into and out of the distribution/manufacturing.  This role will also be working with optical supplies from domestic and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate the shipping and receiving of finished goods, raw material, and other items
  • Invoice orders out of company software (NetSuite)
  • Wrap and package orders and shipments
  • Sort and allocate inbound and outbound orders and shipments
  • Pack, weigh, label outgoing packages
  • Coordinate with transportation providers on inbound and outbound shipments
  • Physically receive shipments and complete the count, verification, storage and receipt into the inventory management system
  • Organize boxes and shipping supplies
  • Maintain warehouse areas by completing weekly inventories and tracking material movements each day
  • Complete necessary data entry transactions to properly account for material movements, prepare all paperwork for shipping and receiving materials
  • Work with the inventory coordinator to ensure the proper movement of inventory
  • Work in conjunction with Production personnel to maintain inventory control of finished goods
  • Ensure proper supplies are kept for the facility
  • Identify defects and complete inspections
  • Support of the bi-annual inventory counts
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping as required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent visual acuity
  • Physical dexterity is essential – ability to lift 35lbs
  • Basic math skills and an excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Safety is a must - proper use of mandatory PPE and the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment


  • Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution environment
  • Good English communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills are an asset
