DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive all purchase order material using Magnum’s ERP system
  • Inspect incoming material according to Magnum specifications
  • Communicate with various departments to deal with material discrepancies
  • Maintain receiving records
  • Participate in cycle count
  • Perform administrative procedures related to inventory control
  • Handle materials exceeding 25 lbs, use equipment such as pallet jacks, Forklift, and other tools/equipment required to handle and move received materials
  • Arrange couriers to ensure shipments are picked up on time
  • Effectively deal with customer/supplier shipping requests
  • Responsible to ensure international shipping practices are understood and utilized, and to ensure goods are shipped in the most economical way possible yet meeting customer requirements.
  • Responsible to ensure goods shipped are properly packaged and made ready for transport.
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintain filing and other administrative duties related to the shipping documents.
  • Utilize computer software and ERP systems with ease and efficiency
  • Be punctual and available for a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
  • Perform work in accordance with Magnum documented policies and procedures.
  • Complete all applicable quality records
  • Maintain organized work area according to Magnum policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

 

  • 1-3 years shipping experience required

  • Materials handling certification or equivalent working experience

  • Valid Forklift Certification

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods

  • Overhead crane and rigging

  • Solid knowledge of proper shipping practices

  • Good organizational and communication skills

  • Eye for detail and pride/ownership of work

  • Experience with ERP Systems an asset

  • Proficient with computers & the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to communicate both verbal & written in the English language

  • Ability to read & write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees in the organization

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, colour vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit;
  • Ability to use hands to operate equipment, handle, or feel;
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 – 50lbs
  • Occasionally lift and/or move >50lbs with assistance
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach above and below waist
  • Ability to wear fully fitted respirator when required*
