You are responsible to ensure the project is successful - customer is happy, crew are encouraged and company is profitable as bid or more.
Setup all projects – job start-up sheets, office and site files, lead the job turnover from Estimation to PM to Foreman.
Track all shop drawings, supplier items and sub-trades – including placing appropriate purchase orders.
Ensure all safety plan documentation is followed.
Obtain all security passes/clearances.
Work to support labour to ensure their time can be used installing duct not doing paperwork or organizing subs or suppliers (take paper work off their hands). Make their daily work lives easier.
Work with Ops Mgr. to track the day to day work to ensure the project is on track - and if things are getting off track find out what is the cause and rectify this immediately.
Enlist help - estimators (understanding initial bid and quoting changes, plus submitting change budgets in a timely manner)
Job costing, office to review - when prompted by the PM, job costing to ensure nothing has been entered wrong. Office to set up labour tracking docs as set out as a company standard.
You must ensure this is being used so that problems can be accurately identified and corrected. Your suspicions about why things are going sideways are not good enough - have the back up to support the issue and present your findings to the Ops Mgr. in a timely manner.
Shop manager to help when issues arise with quality or too many materials being sent to site.
Review job progress with Ops Mgr. with regards to WIP at month end.
Determine best foreman for each project and work with Ops Mgr. to get right labour on each project.
Motivate labour/mentor labour to ensure they understand how important their roll is in the success of the job and our company.
Attend and represent our company at all site meetings that we are required to be at (as much as possible). Understand the job and issues so our foremen do not always have to be at these meetings - we want them leading the crews and installing not sitting through long site meetings with very little sheet metal issues.
Oversee suppliers and subs to ensure they can be scheduled properly - your disorganization does not mean our subs and suppliers need to jump at a moment’s notice - treat them fairly. Take the heat when you screwed up! Find a solution that does not put others into a stressful situation that we caused.
Work with labour to find efficiencies on site.
Negotiate problem change orders.
Advise support staff of monthly invoicing draws by the 22nd. of each month.
Assist with/ take over collections once a receivable reaches 67 days old. Once a receivable hits 82 days old turn it over to CEO with complete backup to support our claim. CEO will spend 7 more days on the collection and will them make a decision to suspend all work with the client or not – your information must be correct and have full backup support documentation.
Take upgrading classes/ business development classes/ personal development classes.
Work within our ethical boundaries.
This is a fulltime position.
Salary of $65k - 108k, plus profit share and or bonus, depending on experience.
