Job Description & Duties
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule crews engaged in excavation, underground Storm and Sanitary Sewer line, Watermains , and road construction.
• Read and interpret civil engineering drawings, servicing plans, utility profiles, specifications, and contract documents.
• Ensure work complies with MMCD specifications, municipal standards, approved drawings, and project requirements.
• Coordinate daily construction activities with project managers, engineers, consultants, utility companies, and municipal inspectors.
• Establish work methods and schedules and coordinate activities with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor quality control, productivity, safety, and project documentation.
• Prepare daily reports, track production quantities, and complete as-built markups.
• Coordinate deficiency corrections and requisition materials and supplies.
• Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
Skills, Education & Experience Required
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Sewer Construction Foreman or Civil Construction Supervisor.
• Experience with excavation, underground utility installation, roadworks, and municipal infrastructure construction.
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, utility profiles, servicing plans, and specifications.
• Working knowledge of MMCD specifications and municipal inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver and District of West Vancouver engineering standards and inspection requirements.
• Experience coordinating with municipal inspectors, engineers, consultants, and utility companies.
• Knowledge of grade control, utility elevations, civil construction tolerances, and survey interpretation.
• Health and Safety Certification in Trenching and Excavation, including hazard identification, WHMIS, soil classification, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
• High School Education
• Work 40 Hours per week
