Scansa is seeking a highly motivated Mechanic/Service Technician to join our shop in Victoria, BC to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on small engines and heavy-duty rental equipment. Applicants for this position must have the knowledge, experience, and mechanical aptitude to work on a diverse array of equipment, from small gas engines to heavy-duty machinery.

With Scansa's industry-leading training and mentorship, your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Performing routine maintenance and repairs
• Troubleshooting problems and performing diagnostic testing
• Understanding and following instructions in operating manuals
• Demonstrating proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems 
• Managing tasks and prioritizing work to be completed
• Maintaining detailed maintenance reports and documentation
• Writing and following repair work orders
• Following safety protocols and compliance in the workplace

To succeed in this role, you must have previous mechanical experience with similar types of equipment, including but not limited to:

• Manlifts 
• Mini excavators 
• Scissor lifts
• Gas cut-off saws
• Weedeaters 
• Roto hammers 
• Air compressors
• Diesel plate packers 
• Small gas plate packers 
• Pumps (gas and electric) 
• Air breakers
• Propane heaters

Advanced knowledge of hydraulics systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting is preferred but not required, and Red Seal Certification will be considered an asset. In addition, it is essential that you have effective communication skills.
