Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator delivers professional technical services and solutions for the integration and maintenance of applications focusing primarily on the Development and Middleware Platforms. This role acts as an technical expert working with Product Owners, Developers, Team members, QA analysts as well as with many third party vendors. Using a deep understanding of enterprise system solutions and the latest technical know-how, the system administrator works towards enabling effective integration of various vendors applications into a unified gaming platform.

This role is subject to the requirement of after-hours support.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supports the Middleware and TIBCO ESB production platforms at a Tier II level, escalating to vendors and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Supports all non-production environments related to the Middleware and TIBCO ESB platforms
  • Supports the application hosting and development productivity platforms
  • Acts as subject matter expert in the planning, design, deployment, configuration and on-going maintenance of new gaming applications in all environments
  • Works closely with application stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Working closely with developers on streamlining their sdlc processes
  • Proactively researches, recommends, and applies the latest technology and industry best practices and standards.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • University degree in a relevant discipline or a two-year college diploma supplemented by industry recognized IT certifications;
  • 3-5 years progressively responsible experience supporting multi-tier applications in a production environment;
  • Experience supporting systems using application integration architecture (e.g. Service-Oriented Architecture SOA, Enterprise Service Bus) technologies, principles, and standards, working within a formalized System Development Lifecycle in the context of complex integrated systems;
  • Experience with ITIL framework and principles is an asset;
  • Experience with agile methodologies is an asset;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Linux command line, VMWare, Apache, Tomcat JBOSS, Java, TCPIP networking, and Shell scripting;
  • Demonstrated experience in software development
  • Demonstrated experience with implementation of network and server security controls to industry best practice;
  • Demonstrated experience in automated provisioning, configuration and monitoring technologies;
  • Demonstrated experience working with cloud services and technologies;
  • Demonstrated experience in the administration, service deployment and monitoring of Enterprise Service Business solutions - particularly the Tibco platform as well as knowledge of the Mashery Product would be a strong asset;
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple concurrent activities under strict timelines;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in business and process analysis and improvement;
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry would be an asset.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and provide after-hours support as needed.
