is a multi-year, multi-phase project with an initial focus on a new inpatient/outpatient tower, support facilities building expansion, and renovation. The second phase will include a new cancer treatment centre and 110 new inpatient beds.
This project is complex and will be comprised of new construction, demolition, renovations and various upgrades. Upon completion, the Burnaby campus will have two new patient care towers, an expanded emergency department, a new cancer treatment centre, and ultimately increase its acute care beds from 259 to 400.

We have an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager
with a demonstrated background in construction services and contract management such as design-build, design-build-finance, construction management and design-bid-build. You will be responsible for the overall management of the team that is designated for the successful project delivery and provide leadership to a clinical team through all project phases: workflow, technical, clinical design, build, training and go-live.Build your career with us as you:
•Oversee the design and ongoing progress of the assignment, including the coordination of the project with Clients, the City and other outside agencies. •Oversee and manage the CM component of Phase 1 •Lead the management and review of drawings and specifications as produced by outside architectural and engineering consultants. •Provide leadership as the project owner and liaising with various associates with respect to risk management and quality control. Clearly communicate project status, ongoing issues, progress updates, challenges and opportunities. •Review plans, prepare and review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. •Ensure that the project team aligns with the contract agreement as well as exercises rigid cost control to implement the approved design within established scope, schedule and budget. •Provide recommendations to the leadership team to mitigate cost overruns, maintain adherence to allocated budgets and timelines, and ensure delivery of a successful project. To join we would like you to have:
•A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related discipline. •Seven to ten years' recent, related experience in project planning/design/construction management for a large multi-phase project with large renovation component. •Provide leadership as the project owner and liaising with various associates with respect to issues and risk management and quality control. •Provide recommendations to the leadership team to mitigate cost overruns, maintain adherence to allocated budgets and timelines, and ensure delivery of a successful project. •Project Management Professional certification is an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience maybe acceptablePreferences will be given to those who have experience:
•Successfully planning, leading and delivering complex construction projects in a healthcare environment including acute care. •Experience and expertise in construction management oversight •Organizing, managing and consensus building among a diverse clinical and leadership partner group. •Building trustful relationships with customers and project partners. •Consistently providing high levels of customer service. •Building high performance teams. •Developing appropriate communications strategies and materials necessary for project decisions and partner management and coordination. •Creative problem solving. •Proven track record in managing project teams, budget control, contract management, dispute resolution and oversight of facilities projects from planning and design through to construction and commissioning.
