Senior Project Manager - General Contractor

Our client is a high-performing global general contractor who is currently seeking to add to thier Project Management team and provide the opportunity to work with the best in the industry, all while growing your project portfolio. 

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a NEW project which requires expertise to scope, timelines, milestones and budget. 

The Role:

  • Responsible for the delivery  while monitoring costs, quality and efficiency
  • Analyze designs for consistency and initial specification
  • Develop procedures and mitigate project risk through diligent planning and management
  • Collaborate with project Site Superintendent and oversee phases through planning, scheduling, execution, budgeting and reporting of individual projects
  • Coordinate and provide direction and support to the project team to ensure efficient completion and accurate exchange of project specifications
  • Set and monitor milestones and report project progress to stakeholders
  • Manage financial implications applicable to projects by way of cost control and procurement in compliance with the company’s business goals and policies
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with clients, architects, designers, consultants, site supers and contractors, relating to activities in a professional manner
  • Ensure that quality, safety and labour standards are maintained
  • Lead the team in strategy to advocate corporate objectives

The Candidate

Applicants for this role must have the following:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ Project Management experience in the commercial or industrial sector with a working knowledge of design, financing and management
  • A post-secondary education in Construction Management or Engineering
  • A commitment to and passion for a career in construction
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry and corporate practices, regulatory codes, standards and procedures and how they relate to projects on hand
  • The ability to run multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to provide powerful leadership to the company’s Project Management team to optimize returns and maximize employee performance
  • Proficient skills in industry related software programs including AutoCAD and MS Office package
  • Ability to solve complex problems and execute effective solutions
  • Excellent communication skills; the ability to communicate well with peers, managers and trades
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a corporate representative with tact and diplomacy
