What You'll Be Doing

This is an exciting time to be joining CIBC's Infrastructure Technology team. This role will be based in Vancouver reporting to a leader in our head-office location in Toronto. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager, Cloud Enablement who brings experience specifically in working with Cloud based applications.

This role is for someone who is passionate about new challenges and technologies while making an impact. As a Senior Project Manager, Cloud Enablement, you'll lead a portfolio of projects from end-to-end, and play a lead role in integration across multiple streams. You'll provide guidance to others and lead teams of stakeholders and business partners to ensure projects of all sizes are completed in line with the team's budget and schedule. You'll use your expertise in project management methodology to keep the project on track, and manage stakeholder expectations.

In addition to various Infrastructure Technology teams, you'll be collaborating with peers in the various workstream programs to support the successful delivery of the Cloud Enablement program. You are responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the project. With a mindset for continuous improvement, you'll identify and implement improvements to project documents and processes. This role will lead the day to day activities of the team, ensuring that program governance processes are effectively managed and practices are adhered to across the program.

How You'll Succeed
  • Project Management - Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Help create a plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team, and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan. Assist in establishing PMO processes for the technology project team
  • Leadership - leading and supporting a talented team in a matrix environment to bring out the best to achieve objectives, as well as presenting and reporting at various leadership forums.
  • Collaboration - Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor your teams as you work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
  • Integration - Planning and collaboration with teams (within Technology and without) to align multiple project interdependencies and develop integrated plans
  • Project Delivery - Proactively identify anything that will take projects off schedule and find solutions to correct the problem. Monitor milestones, and ensure they're completed according to timelines and budgets. Track and manage project/program risks and issues.

Who You Are
  • You have strong knowledge - of managing Cloud technology and understanding of Azure
  • You can demonstrate experience - in Project Management methodologies, principles, and tools with 7-9 years' experience as a Senior Project manager
