The Role
We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to own sales tax and payments regulatory compliance planning and to drive resulting projects. In this role you stay on top of the changing regulatory environment and how it impacts AbeBooks by engaging with tax and legal counterparts in the Amazon organization. You triage regulatory changes and own the decision process within the organization to set a path forward. You assemble and lead cross-functional teams to deliver creative solutions that maximize customer experience while meeting regulatory requirements. Your tasking includes managing vendor relationships, gathering requirements, communicating and educating within the organization, getting buy-in, assembling project teams, assigning tasks, documenting functional and design specifications, and owning the delivery schedule.

About You
You are a self starter who has strong business judgement and demonstrated experience leading through influence. You can engage effectively at all levels of the organization and thrive in a fast paced environment with multiple competing priorities. You think big and strategically while managing small details that make the difference for the customer. You have demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills as well as ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases. You constantly improve your understanding of the customer and actively participate in designing solutions that provide the best customer experience. You have excellent writing and verbal communication.

Job Location: 500-655 Tyee Road, Victoria, BC V9A 6X5

Salary Range: $82,000 - $138,00, commensurate with experience

Basic Qualifications

    •A diploma or bachelor's degree
    •5+ years experience leading and delivering impactful projects as a program manager, project manager, product manager, or similar
    •Strong verbal and written communication skills
    •Ability to dive into data using Excel, Tableau, or similar and use it to support decisions
    •Experience working on a team delivering software projects


Preferred Qualifications

    •Experience defining requirements for and designing software user interfaces
    •Experience leading delivery of software projects

    •Background in law, international tax, or marketplace payment processing
    •Functional knowledge of SQL
    •PMP Certification
