Position Overview:

The Senior Product Manager (IoT Networks) will be a key contributor to TELUS' investment in the IoT space. Factoring in industry trends, market sizing and evolution, and combining those with our 3 main areas of focus will be the primary responsibility of the Senior Product Manager. 3 main areas of focus:
    •identify customer requirements, input and treat them as our core business •develop product enhancements •develop network plan to service our IoT customers

    •Create the business case (including market share, projections and opportunity sizing) for an LPWA network, including recommendations on technology investments
    •Capture customer requirements and act as the Subject Matter Expert to support customer facing meetings and our IoT specialists, and sales executives
    •Own and lead the business requirements process, leading key deliverables with x-functional teams
    •Engage with marketing, product management and channel teams to ensure the network, its feature set and benefits are accurately communicated to sales teams and end customers
    •Develop and communicate TELUS LPWA strategy to internal leadership, informed by market feedback, competitive analysis and financial forecasts
    •Manage relationships with various partners to ensure alignment with TELUS LPWA strategy, roadmap and KPIs
    •Engage TELUS care and assurance organizations to ensure network and infrastructure is adequately supported by TELUS and customer end to end experience with product surpasses expectations
    •Ability to analyze the end to end customer interaction with a service, uncover pain points in the customer's interaction with the service, recommend improvements and drive those improvements with the appropriate stakeholders
    •Understanding or experience with Machine to Machine or Internet of Things solutions
    •Understanding or experience with wireless network technologies, infrastructure, and IoT end user hardware
    •Create subscriber and financial forecasts to drive business cases, and demonstrate value of a project


Required Knowledge:
    •Experience with business case writing, product management and related processes including user needs assessment, requirements drafting and agile or waterfall development
    •Familiarity with the following TELUS processes/departments:
      •MLT (Capital Planning)
      •Technology strategy (planning, architecture)
      •Channel sales
      •Pricing and compensation
      •IP connectivity solutions - M2M/IoT
    •Familiarity with the M2M Market:
      •Such as existing solutions and verticals (e.g. AVL, Smart Grid, fixed wireless)
      •Global M2M Eco-system (e.g. products, VARs, Enablers)
      •Competitive carrier offerings
      •Wireless Infrastructure (e.g. EPC), and IoT End User hardware

Required Skills & Abilities:
    •Comfortable with "selling" their ideas to internal teams and executives
    •Capable of handling multiple priorities and stakeholders
    •Experience with technical requirements gathering & management
    •Able to deal with adversity and uncertainty associated with building a new solution within a large organization
    •Experience working in or with marketing organizations

Required Professional Designation/Certification:
    •A university degree or college diploma with significant experience
    •An MBA will be an asset; however proven track record of delivery and execution is equally valid

Required Experience:
    •5+ years successful experience in the IT or telecommunications industry in a product management and/or business development role
    •Experience developing and managing end-to-end processes an asset
    •Experience working with OEMs and third party partners
