 Job Description: 

The Senior Process Engineer / Engineering Manager is responsible for the process applications aspects of the company’s activities, and managing the activities of the Engineering Group.

This individual determines the performance requirements of the products to fulfill the customers’ needs by performing the necessary process calculations, and follows up with managing the engineering design and manufacturing (by contract fabricators) of the engineered equipment.

This is a key position in the Engineering Group, and the work sets the course for subsequent activities.

The Senior Process Engineer provides technical support to the Company’s sales group, and to customers.


Location:

This position is based in the Vancouver Office.

Remote work is accommodated, with occasional in-office work when required.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, Mineral Processing Engineering. Candidates with degrees in other disciplines with strong understanding of and background in industrial processes will be considered
  • Registration with, or eligible for, Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia
  • 5 years plus of experience
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Able to create PFD’s, P&ID’s, Control Functional Descriptions
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to manage work flow of self and others
  • Able to organize and coordinate project engineering activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers – written and oral
  • Able to assess applications of technology to prospective customers
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply codes and standards such as CSA, ASME
  • Experience using Metsim® process simulation software
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Word
  • Some experience with MS Project
  • Experience at an operating plant in the resource and/or chemicals sector
  • Preparation of business proposals
  • Experience working in and/or with EPCs/EPCMs
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the resource industries
  • “People person”
