Senior Land Development Technologist / Designer: Harvey 2062

Position Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Land Development Technologist / Designer to join our Infrastructure team, located at our New Westminster office.  Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure this position will be responsible for managing designers on various land development assignments (site and subdivision planning and design, municipal roads, residential developments, storm water management, etc.).


  • Lead and supervise our team of designers on various land development projects

  • Provide design reviews and supervision and/or training of more junior technical staff

  • Participate in project meetings with contractors, clients/owners and affected stakeholders

  • Take projects from preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans, and project documentation requirements, using primarily Civil 3D, as well as other technical software as needed

  • Coordinate the preparation of documents required for regulatory approvals, prepare construction cost estimates and tender documents/contracts

  • Liaison with contractors and contract management of projects during construction

  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited college

  • 8+ years’ experience in the design of land development and municipal infrastructure projects

  • Registration as an ASc.T or other technical accreditation is an asset

  • Proven experience with contract/construction management

  • Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is desirable

  • Ability to understand and come quickly up to speed on local development bylaws and regulations in Lower Mainland of British Columbia

  • Experience with administering construction contracts

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work within a busy and close-knit team environment

  • Must possess strong communication skills


This is a fulltime position

Salary is open depending on experience

Benefits package available after 3 months
