At WSP our Environmental Management team is providing environmental services that include socio-economics studies to position WSP as a leader in the market. We're looking for a Senior Human Environmental Specialist to join our Environment team, located at our Vancouver, BC office. Reporting to the Ecology and EIA Team Lead, you will participate in participate in socio-economic and consultation and engagement project work. Why Choose WSP?

•As a Human Environmental Specialist, you will be leading or participating in socio-economic studies, included environmental effects assessments;
•You will be preparing Socio-economic data analysis and management;
•You will be leading or coordinating community engagement and consultation programs;
•You will be coordinating with project teams on Indigenous related project issues;
•You will assist in proposal writing, study design and implementation;
•You will perform background research and analysis, including consultation with government agencies;
•You will deliver high quality reports on time and within budget, drawing upon technical and scientific knowledge, training and experience;
•You will manage small to medium-sized projects, communicating with clients and reporting to senior staff
•You will work within a team environment and communicate effectively with all levels of staff
•You will be training and mentoring of junior staff
•You will be involved in occasional field work and travel is required and other duties as assigned/required QUALIFICATIONS
•A University degree (B.Sc or M.Sc) in Social Sciences or other related field
•A Minimum of 10 years experience with Socio-Economic project work
•Experience working on environmental assessment projects in BC
•The willingness and ability to work in the field, occasionally in remote locations and outside standard office hours
•A baseline reporting and environmental impact assessment project experience
•The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team environment and under deadlines
•Excellent communication and organization skills
•Demonstrated technical writing skills
•Highly developed computer skills with Microsoft including Excel, and Word
