Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst to join a mission-driven organization dedicated to advancing education across British Columbia. This role supports the organization’s ambitious revitalization and capital investment strategy by delivering clear, accurate financial insights. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset ledgers and general ledger accounts
- Collaborate with project managers to forecast project timelines and cash flows
- Analyze and report on program and project costs
- Reconcile investment portfolios and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and monitor deferred revenue and capital contribution reconciliations
- Lead grant reporting and compliance tracking
- Contribute to financial forecasting, budgeting, and modeling activities
- Analyze departmental and program-level performance, including variance analysis
- Prepare monthly revenue forecasts and update rolling projections
- Develop and track KPIs to support performance measurement
- Create and maintain tools for financial and operational transparency
- Support monthly and year-end close processes and working paper preparation
- Participate in system enhancements, including ERP implementation
- Provide analytical support to senior management through reporting and presentations
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial reports
- Collaborate across departments to refine financial processes and tools
Requirements:
- CPA designation with a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, financial planning, or analysis
- Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Sage 300
- Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
- Collaborative mindset and proactive problem-solving approach
Remuneration:
- $90,000 - $100,000
