Senior Financial Analyst or Manager (Capital Planning)

Join a collaborative finance team supporting capital planning through forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting. This role provides meaningful exposure to complex capital projects and the opportunity to partner with leaders across the organization.

What- The Role:

The Senior Financial Analyst or Manager supports financial planning, reporting, and analysis related to capital projects and organizational budgeting. This role plays a key part in monitoring capital funding and expenditures, preparing financial reports and forecasts, and providing analysis that supports informed decision-making. Working closely with finance and operational teams, the Senior Financial Analyst also contributes to improving financial processes, reporting tools, and overall financial oversight for capital initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and report on capital project funding and expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Support the development and consolidation of annual and multi-year budgets.
  • Assist in preparing capital requisitions and work with program teams to determine appropriate accounting treatment for funding requests.
  • Develop financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Support reporting requirements for external stakeholders, including government and funding bodies.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improved resource utilization.
  • Assist in reviewing and improving financial reporting processes, templates, and tools.
  • Contribute to operational reviews, financial modeling, and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and project decision-making.
  • CPA designation or a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Approximately 8+ years of senior financial analysis or business planning experience, ideally within a large, complex organization.
  • Experience supporting capital planning or capital project portfolios, including tracking capital budgets and monitoring project expenditures.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial insights clearly to senior leaders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Who- the Candidate:

How much:

$105-108K commensurate with experience, + robust compensation plan including 4 weeks vacation + pension.

If a candidate’s experience exceeds the requirements outlined for the Senior Financial Analyst role, our client may consider hiring at the Manager level, with a salary range of $122K–$128K, commensurate with experience.
