Senior Engineer / Leadership Position: Harvey 2307
Candidate will participate in the full-cycle project management scope, including but not limited to, office duties, field tasks, engineering critical assessments and analysis, resource allocation, cost control and preparation of technical reports.
Additionally, the incumbent has responsibility for the supervision of all activities and staff within the engineering group.
Position reports to Department Manager.
Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert to support project or solution development and fabrication processes.
Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed within the department and manufacturing facilities.
Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering part of projects.
Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
Support team members identifying individual performance problems and help establish effective corrective actions.
Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs.
Perform annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally.
Liaison with clients and internal business units towards project development and quality deliverables.
Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.
Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Analyze designs for efficiency of construction, use of materials, functionality and practicality of design.
Direct, review, and approve product design and changes.
Coordinate and direct draftsmen and designers in the creation of drawings. Further develop concepts established by sales engineering personnel.
Taking part in conceptual, preliminary and final design of bulk material handling systems including ship, barge, rail and truck loading and unloading systems comprised of belt conveyors, drag conveyors, bucket elevators, dust control systems and various specialty equipment components.
Coordinate with procurement as needed to support projects development.
Travel to project sites, or client locations may be required from time to time.
Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct policies.

The individual must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
This is a fully qualified professional engineering position, and the individual must be registered as a licensed P. Eng.
This position requires a minimum of ten years of applicable engineering experience.
The position requires one to three years of previous supervisory experience.
Experience selecting mechanical equipment components for bulk material handling systems including drives, bearings, pulleys, shafts, scales, and dust collection and suppression systems is required.
Experience in preparation of bulk material handling and heavy plant equipment arrangement drawings using Computer Aided Drafting and Design software is required.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and Outlook)
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
Proven time management skills and strong attention to details.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
Working experience with bulk material handling systems is defiantly an asset.
This is a fulltime position
Salary of $100,000 to $120,000 per year depending on experience
