Bring your creativity and passion for storytelling to Fraser Health's Public Affairs team and help one of Canada's largest and fastest-growing health authorities share our stories with our internal and external audiences!

As a Senior Consultant, Public Affairs within the content-creation group you will develop and research potential storytelling opportunities, and will build robust communications strategies to share the innovative, exciting work that FH is leading in our region. Working within a fast-paced, exciting environment, you will build relationships with your colleagues throughout the organization to foster clear pathways to information and source stories worth sharing across FH's platforms as well as with our media and government stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly-motivated, experienced communications professional with a passion for storytelling, a strong writing background, and eye for detail who excels as part of a team but can also get down to business independently. If you love to work collaboratively to find a story to tell, are a natural self-starter, and like nothing more than learning something new every day, this role is for you!

Build on your education and career experience as you:
    •Work collaboratively with your Public Affairs teammates to source storytelling opportunities through relationships you build with key individuals within our organization. •Develop and recommend strategic communications and/or promotional plans, and carry these plans forward from the goal-setting through to the creative solution, including the implementation and evaluation stages. •Develop media action plans including setting objectives, coordinating appropriate internal spokespeople and interview opportunities, preparing key messages and news releases; determining appropriate media outlets, pitching and evaluating media results. •Develop relationships with reporters based on trust and acting as one of a group of spokespeople for the organization.

To join our award winning team, we will look for you to have:
    •Degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related subject area such as Journalism. •Five (5) to seven (7) years of recent, related experience in a communications or public affairs role in a public sector, health care or a large complex organization.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

This full time position is based at our Central City offices in Surrey, BC, with access to rapid transit, shopping, restaurants, on-site gym and other amenities.
