ERM is seeking a high-performing, enthusiastic SeniorAquatic Biologist to become a member of our Integrated Water Management team in Canada. The successful candidate will interact within a multidisciplinary community of biologists, toxicologists, geochemists, hydrologists, and hydrogeologists (among other disciplines) and will become a member of an extensive team of global environmental and social experts.

  • Support Discipline Manager with senior-level tasks and mentor junior staff.
  • Bring novel approaches to common problems to satisfy client and regulator expectations.

  • Masters level (with additional work experience) in an Aquatic Biology or similar discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience organizing, managing, and executing freshwater and/or marine aquatics field programs and experience with environmental effects monitoring (AEMPs, MMER/EEM) in Canadian jurisdictions.

  • Strong data manipulation, graphing and multivariate statistical skills using the open source program R or similar.
  • Expertise with Federal, Provincial and Territorial permitting, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Strong water chemistry background.
  • Field experience sampling water, sediments, and aquatic biology, and sampling under ice.

  • Positive attitude; excellent writing, communication, and time management skills; problem solver who enjoys working independently.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health & Safety protocols.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Bilingual in English and French/Spanish is an asset.
