Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

Horizon Recruitment has an opportunity with a global technology company that has been a consistent part of Vancouver's technology industry for decades. We are working with the Director, Finance and Controllers group recruiting a Senior Accountant who will work on various accounting matters including supporting the end-to-end accounting and statutory reporting for various business units. This role will also have a project-based component that will allow for a diverse group of activates and exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the end-to-end accounting for various subsidiaries, including:
• Monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting quarterly reviews and annual audit
• Statutory reporting
• Liaising with local Accounting Firms
• Work with other members of the finance team and other departments to resolve issues and ensure accurate data is provided to accounting
• Assist stakeholders in other departments with accounting queries
• Participate in ad hoc duties and various special projects requiring financial accounting, financial analysis, and process design skills.

Requirements:

• Professional CPA designation or equivalent experience
• Proficient in accounting standards, U.S. GAAP preferred
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to juggle multiple assignments and effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including use of Pivot tables
• Experience with JD Edwards would be an asset
• Understand internal controls, SOX and experience working with external auditors
• Chinese reading fluency a plus
