The Security Programs Manager (SPM) is an embedded member of a Contract Management Team. Under the general direction of the Account Director, the position of SPM will play a senior role in the overall responsibility of overseeing the portfolio. The SPM will focus on key accountabilities and will work closely with the client, the Senior Client Service Manager and the dedicated Portfolio Resource Coordinator (PRC) to effectively manage staffing resources and provide operational support as needed.
Salary: $64,000 - $68,000
Shifts: Weekday afternoons and one weekend day (ex. Sunday - Thursday, or Tuesday - Saturday) regularly, with occasional schedule adjustments based on operational needs
Please note that this will be a temporary position (6-months) with potential for becoming permanent.
Responsibilities
•In coordination with a dedicated Portfolio Resource Coordinator (PRC), oversee and maintain daily site schedules for Permanent, Temporary and Ad Hoc deployments
•Ensure consistency of coverage by implementing mitigation strategies for any potential loss of coverage and ensures accuracy of the overall schedules for billing purposes
•Perform field management duties including, but not limited to, critical incident response, quality assurance checks, performance management duties, equipment and fleet vehicle coordination, and training
•Act as management representative of Paladin and address urgent operational matters in a professional manner
•Administration of Tracktik device usage across multiple sites within the portfolio
•Conduct risk assessment on permanent, ad hoc, and temporary sites within the portfolio to determine operational risks and staffing requirements on behalf of Paladin and the client
•Ensure that all client work sites, where Paladin personnel are deployed, have up to date complete document package including: Site Post Orders / Standard Operating Procedures, training checklists, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety documents, both in hard copy on site and in digital format on the network server
•Communicate appropriate information to Operations and/or the Field Managers to ensure that any time-sensitive Field Assignments and logistical support requests are completed as expediently as possible
•Analyze staffing trends (HR needs), overtime, training hours and upcoming vacancies to determine appropriate management actions to pro-actively maintain a sufficient head-count within the portfolio
•Perform interviews and meet all new staff being considered for sites within the portfolio
•Provide motivational and disciplinary discussions with staff
•Respond to communications from clients or staff in a timely manner
•Conduct performance evaluations of staff on an as-needed basis, and in accordance with company policies
•Ensure that there are adequate numbers of trained security staff to meet all of Paladin's contractual obligations within the portfolio of business
•Monitor Incident Reports and taking appropriate action
•Remain on-call as an after-hours resource for emergencies
•Report regularly to the CSM on matters of company or client interest or significant events
•Ensure that all services in the portfolio are delivered in accordance with the client's wishes and best interests, and in accordance with Paladin's Code of Ethics
•Perform other duties as needed to assist with corporate and/or branch needs
Requirements
•Minimum of 2 years experience in a managerial capacity, in a related industry
•Prior experience and/or education in Incident Command System is preferred
•Valid Class BC 5 Driver's License and a vehicle that will be used for work purposes
•Ability to obtain Enhanced Reliability Check through local police
•Able to work afternoons and weekends regularly, and be flexible to adjustments to schedule based on operational needs
•Effective communication, both in writing and verbally, including delivering presentations to groups
•Ability to navigate and work in complex environments
•Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on building codes, security, and protection of privacy
•Willingness to join and participate in industry professional associations and have a desire to learn through professional certification processes
•Post-secondary education in security management, criminology or related discipline would be an asset
•Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve
•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•Professionalism and effective people management skills
•Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, which may include walking and/or standing for long periods
