Role Purpose
The Scrum Master supports the team on their understanding of Agile and is responsible for the delivery of a product. It is the Scrum Master's role to demonstrate and teach the team agile practices, facilitate scrum ceremonies, remove impediments and external distractions. The Scrum Master brings the Product Owner and team together and facilitates an understanding of the functions to streamline and effectively move delivery forward. This individual acts as a personal coach for team members and an innovator who constantly seeks continuous improvement building and leveraging high performing teams.

Individual Key Contributions/Responsibilities
• Communicates effectively with individuals at all levels across the organization to facilitate ongoing collaboration and input.

• Disseminates the latest in agile practices and is able to influence and guide to establish best practices internally
• Actively engages in the existing community of agile practitioners to share and learn best practices
• Integrated project team delivery, including coordinating deliverables and contributing to strategy/planning with management and other stakeholders
• Provide hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of Agile
• Provide weekly reporting to management and organize delivery demos to the business
• Support the product owner with effective techniques for managing the product backlog
Personal Effectiveness
• Make and apply recommendations to improve and standardize agile practices, spearheading agile communities of practice.
• Accountable for ensuring the product owner and the team carrying out the work understand their roles and perform them correctly in Agile framework
• Identifies and recommends trade-offs between short and long terms benefits in order to drive a shared vision between the team and product owner.
• Understands when to work independently or within cross functional project teams with a focus to ensuring effective outcomes.
Program Management
• Effectively manages complex digital squads and programs, including between inter-dependencies between agile squads and other enterprise projects
Strategic Thinking
• Understands strategic direction in order to prioritize project planning while working across multiple projects and workstreams
Team Approach
• Acts as coach and mentor to ensure the team is functioning well, is highly productive, organized and developing as an Agile team.
• Act as SME for Scrum practices and uses expertise to influence to ensure they are used and improved within and across teams
• Takes a team approach, acts as an effective facilitator leading team meetings to ensure clear outcomes.

Minimum Job-Related Experience
• Minimum 7 - 9 Years of Job Related Experience
At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience as a Scrum Master. More than 7 years of experience in software development. Background in financial services an asset..
Minimum Formal Education
• Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent technology discipline. At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Scrum Master. Certified Scrum Master (CSM); Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Minimum Technical Skills
• Previous programming experience
• Proficiency in agile values and principles
• Strong knowledge and background with Agile concepts
• Identify process issues and improve them
• Help team on the estimating of the user stories and prepare them for the same
• Provide capacity calculator template for the team
• Proficiency in agile work methods, especially Scrum, Kanban or SAFe, having practiced them in concrete situations
• Scrum Master certification
• Provide and manage burndown charts, velocity and team capacity reporting
Minimum Non-Technical Skills
• Effective facilitation skills, motivating high performing teams, resolving conflict and understanding team dynamics.
• Assertive when necessary, with the confidence to change status quo to what is best for the organization.
• Brings a high-energy and engagement to the role and can positively influence others.
• Strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent writing skills
• High degree of initiative to manage and prioritize a complex, heavy workload with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities while achieving high level results
• Client-focused mindset, delivering superior customer results. Effective stakeholder managements at all levels.
