We are seeking a highly-motivated scientist, with demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience relevant to the production and characterization of antibodies, to join our interdisciplinary team in the Molecular Biology & Expression group. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and focused environment and who takes the initiative to stay up-to-date in recent technology developments in the field. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in multi-tasking, managing complex data, as well as communicating and presenting their science. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our cutting-edge research on monoclonal antibody production and characterization!

How you might spend your days:

  • Designing, planning and executing experiments, either independently or in collaboration with your teammates
  • Solving problems at a high level
  • Training, mentoring, and supervising members of a dynamic team
  • Liaising with partners and communicating project updates and deliverables
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures 
  • Organizing, supporting, and collaborating with team members to meet project deliverables and timelines

Required qualifications and experience:

  • A PhD in Biochemistry or Structural Biology, or a MSc with additional academic or industry-related experience in a wet lab environment
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional team
  • A broad knowledge of protein analytical technologies including SEC, light scattering, thermal denaturation
  • A deep understanding of binding kinetics and prior experience with Bio-layer interferometry or Surface Plasmon Resonance preferred
  • Strong experience in protein purification techniques
  • Experience with high-throughput protein purification and characterization or lab automation is an asset
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with transient and stable mammalian protein expression 
  • Experience in various molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning, nucleic acid isolation and preparation
