What you'll do
Position Title:SAP iXp Intern - Application Gateway, Software Developer
Location:Vancouver, BC
Expected Start Date: 6 January 2025
Contract Duration: 8 months
Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Do you want to help us build and launch our next generation cloud-based Analytics platform in a fast-paced culture with the muscle and stability of SAP? Are you a passionate coder who wants to learn new things while honing your skills using leading edge technologies for Cloud, Big Data, Mobile, SAP HANA and modern Visualization? This role is part of the SAP Analytics Cloud application gateway team where we work with the latest cloud and networking technologies, such as Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, SAML SSO, OAuth, Open ID Connect, mTLS, etc. We contribute to SAP Analytics Cloud's success by producing software services and API's that are resilient and scalable.
You will work on improvements to our testing and observability frameworks, and to our core microservices. Your work will improve the quality of our software and our automation and will advance our ongoing AI exploration.

Our team of 12 engineers operates 11 microservices. We specialize in gateways and authentication, but also help integrate our product into the wider SAP product portfolio. We work with many other teams and make lots of friends. There's lots to learn but we help each other out to achieve amazing results.

You are studying Computer Science or Engineering and have the following background:
- 8+ months of prior work experience developing web applications
- A solid foundation of Java, JavaScript, Python, HTTP, restful APIs, and web microservices
- Cloud-native development technologies and experience on AWS, Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
- Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms and principles of OO design
- Understanding of web application servers and databases
- Experience working on a team and independently
- A positive self-motivated can-do attitude
