The Sales Operations Coordinator position is the primary liaison for the Sales team and Brokers, coordinating their needs cross functionally within the Dessert Holdings group of companies’ functional units such as Marketing, Supply Chain, Product Development and Innovation, Quality Assurance, Accounting and IT as needed to complete tasks or project requirements.

They are the Customer and Channel specialists, focused on executing the ongoing needs of the organization to support the sales cycle while creating a great customer experience.

The group is also responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of the trade spend program. They will work with the Sales and Brokers team to ensure all activities are received, approved and completed throughout the year.

Regular written and verbal Customer interaction is required within this position. The Sales Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Sales Support
    • Support Business Account Managers for key account requirements
    • Produce, analyse, and verify sales reports to assist with business decisions
    • Tour/meeting/ presentation coordination
  • Customer Management
    • Customer agreement, contract and vendor manual approvals
    • Customer specific sample requests coordination
    • Customer portal management & implementation
    • New item setup and item maintenance
    • Facilitate processing of customer complaints
  • Broker Management
    • Support broker requests for business reviews and key account management
    • Facilitate specific requests, inquiries and special projects
    • Oversee contracts, commission setup and management
    • Collection of trade spend documentation
  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple projects from different sources simultaneously
    • Help facilitate and create alignment for process change and assist with implementation and training
    • Keep all stakeholders informed of project status and updates
    • Provide support on special projects that come into the department
  • Data Management
    • Manage customer setup/maintenance and vendor setup
    • Assist with the entry of annual customer trade program agreements  
    • Customer specific trade spend program ownership and management
    • Collection of all specific trade spend deal activity as identified in annual planning
    • Obtain approvals for of any incremental trade spend deals
    • Trade spend payment processing
  • Analytics
  • Track trade spend usage vs estimated budget
  • Proprietary or special pricing requests
  • Price discrepancy investigation
  • Review and analyse sales reports as needed by sales, brokers and customers

The skills, education and experience required include:

  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in Inside Sales, Sales Analysis, Finance or Project Management role
  • A benefit if you have worked in one of the following areas; Food Service industry, Retail industry, manufacturing, or sales broker/agency
  • Project management experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and can prioritize own work appropriately
  • Can deal with and respond to high volumes of emails
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a focus on exceptional customer experience
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, English required, French an asset
  • Intermediate knowledge about computer systems such as ERP Software (Navision) and MS Office 365
  • Advanced Excel knowledge mandatory; including pivot tables and formulas
  • Understanding of accounting principles and business acumen
  • Working knowledge of GS1 & GDSN an asset
