Come to work for Move!  We are looking for a Senior Web Engineer for our flagship website®, in our office located in sunny Richmond, BC.

With record shattering growth in 2016, we are set to be the leading real estate destination on the continent.  Because millions of consumers enjoy our site every day in the United States (or, hundreds per second), our engineers enjoy a fast-paced environment with a multitude of unique technical challenges. What you can do at Move has the potential to touch people in a real and meaningful way:  visitors to our site stay longer than those on facebook, amazon, and twitter.

What’s more, you’ll engage with some of the best and the brightest coworkers and leaders, learn and contribute, and have a great time.  If working for a Silicon-Valley company with a future-stack website interests you then read on!

We don’t match everyone we meet, but here are some things we like

  • Proficiency in modern frameworks, practices, and engineering patterns
  • Firm foundations in OOP, data structures, open-source, and cloud development
  • Solid grasp of core concepts in distributed computing, REST, and SOA
  • Obsession for developing intuitive, high performing user experiences
  • Inspiring and sage communication which fuels and supports your peers
  • Computer Science or Technology degree from a top tier school

  • Establish and maintain mastery with our core tech stack (e.g. RoR, NodeJS, AWS)
  • Innovate web site features that will reach and delight tens of millions
  • Architect and implement stable end-to-end solutions in a high-traffic environment
  • Promote best practices (including peer reviews & building for testability)
  • Identify and mitigate risks to systems, schedules, and projects
  • Proactively collaborate with teammates and project stakeholders in Agile Scrum

The Reward

  • Work with highly skilled pros, distributed teams, and Silicon Valley scrum
  • Keep your skills up-to-date with Education and Conference budget
  • Provision of the right equipment you need to excel
  • And, of course, earn one of the most competitive salaries available in Vancouver

We are a leader in online real estate and we are backed by industry experience and the News Corp Brand.  Move, Inc.’s vision is to be the leading destination to discover and create your perfect home.  We are transforming the real estate industry so people love where they live. We provide consumers with the real estate content, decision support tools and professional connections they need before, during, and after a big real estate decision.  We work hard, play hard, and we recognize achievement.  We reward passion for innovation, creativity and quality.  If you enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic, cutting-edge work environment and desire to make a meaningful contribution to the business, then make the Move!
