JOB TITLE: RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER | #RPP17-89

LOCATION: Richmond

START DATE: November 2nd, 2017

TERM/STATUS: Permanent Part Time

SCHEDULE/HRS: Thur/Fri: 7:30-15:00, Sat: 8:30-16:00, Sun: 14:30-22:00  //  30 hours per week

HOURLY WAGE: $19.31

 

THE ROLE:  

The Residential Care Worker (RCW) assists clients to live successfully in residential settings within the community. The position ensures the clients’ physical, emotional, social, recreational, economic, educational, and/or medical needs are met. The RCW also assists clients by enhancing their quality of life through activities of daily living.


REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in area directly related to supporting people with developmental disabilities such as Social Services, Human Services, or Education.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in adaptive communication techniques, information technology.
  • Must be able to perform lifts and transfers of 40lbs.
  • Formal training in behavior management.

Standard requirements of the Residential Care Worker include:

  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Unrestricted Class 4 Driver's License
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
