Job Summary A great opportunity to take the next step in your careerIn the Ministry of Health, Health Information Analysts play a key role in quality assurance of the Ministry's data holdings, reporting, and supporting strategic planning and evaluation responsibilities through synthesizing, analysing, and interpreting information in a wide range of topics that span the entire health care system. Health Information Analysts apply their knowledge of the health care system, health care data, and analytical techniques, to provide comprehensive statistical analysis to support the Ministry's decision making. Working in a team setting, with cross-Ministry involvement, this position is responsible for supporting the data quality working groups, liaising with external stakeholders, and the implementation of statistical analysis projects to improve the health and well-being of British Columbians and the delivery of health care services.
Job Requirements: • Master's degree in health or biological science field, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field and a minimum of 6 months recent, related experience
*; OR, • Degree in health or biological science field, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field and a minimum of 1-year recent, related experience
*; OR, • Diploma in health or biological science field, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field and a minimum of 4 years recent, related experience

*Recent, related experience is defined as a combination of the following: o Experience in data analysis, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, and providing advice and recommendations.
o Practical research experience gathering, synthesizing, evaluating and interpreting information.
o Experience with analytical and extraction software (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python, Microstrategy) to write computer programs to extract and manipulate data.
o Experience working with large datasets using appropriate tools and approaches.
o Experience preparing and delivering clear and concise analyses both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
• Experience with Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Science.
• Health sector experience.
• A Master's degree in a related field.
• SAS and/or visual analytics software experience.

About this Position: This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
