The Role
The Faculty of Applied Community Studies is looking to hire a Half-Time Regular Probationary Faculty in the Continuing Education Department. The successful candidate will assist in the coordination of a range of continuing education and contract training programs and courses.
ResponsibilitiesMarketing Partnerships: •Promote Douglas College to local, provincial and national networks, agencies and associations through traditional and social media channels and events. •Establish and maintain new relationships with service providers, industry groups and other educational institutions. •Liaise with community organizations, service providers, industry groups and other educational institutions to sustain existing business opportunities and relationships •Market new and existing programs for professional development opportunities through traditional and social media channels
Online Program Development: •Oversee the conversion of BlackBoard Regular to BlackBoard Ultra for all course masters. •Manage online learning spaces to ensure seamless delivery of all online courses •Oversee the creation of online program templates and global guidelines •Design online courses as needed
Alumni Relations: •Develop Alumni Engagement events where CDP alumni can come together and participate in a learning event •Connect with CE Alumni through traditional and social media channels •Build alumni community for continued professional development
Administration: •Create an onboarding process for instructors/new team members •Create policies and procedures for sponsorship process, cohort communications and use of SharePoint and Teams •Provide on-going support to instructional team as needed •Research the areas that are needed in today's labour market for the Advanced program •Create the scaffolding for the Advanced Program based on research findings To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
To be successful in this Role you will need •Master's Degree in Instructional Technology and/or Online Training. •Experience in marketing using traditional and social media channels in a Post-Secondary environment. •Experience in online program design, including the development of online, web-based courses. •Five or more years of experience instructing in a Post-secondary classroom both in person and online. •Demonstrate competence in collaborating with community groups/agencies, professional associations, and other educational and government institutions through traditional and social media channels. •Demonstrated ability to build and manage professional and alumni relationships to promote Continuing Education. •Demonstrated effective interpersonal and team skills. •Strong computer skills and with demonstrated experience using Adobe Suite, Canva, Blackboard and Teams. •Demonstrated self-direction, initiative and creativity.
