Work Arrangements
The Chemistry Department in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Douglas College is accepting applications for a regular probationary instructor, for the 2020/2021 academic year. Available workload will depend on a variety of factors with a minimum 75% and a maximum of full time. Start date could be August 16, 2020 or December 16, 2020 depending on operational requirements.

Workload is assigned each year based on available sections.

The Role
The successful candidate(s) will be able to teach a broad range of preparatory and first- and second-year university-level chemistry courses, in both classroom and laboratory environments.


As an instructor in the Chemistry department, you will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College Chemistry courses. You will also be responsible for planning, organizing and managing learning activities and resources, providing academic advice to learners and maintaining quality learnerÔÇÉcentered instruction.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
The successful candidate(s) must have completed an earned degree in a major area of Chemistry (minimum M.Sc. with Ph.D. preferred), must have teaching experience at the post-secondary level and must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. The ability to teach second year analytical and physical chemistry courses would be an asset.

Strong verbal and written English language skills are also required.
