Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Houston Health Centre.

Under the general supervision of the Site Administrator of the Houston Health Centre and the clinical direction of the Director of Nursing for the East Cluster, provides nursing care for patients on an emergency, day care and ambulatory basis. Provides nursing intervention patient care. Works required shift rotations. Assist emergency health services with the transfer of patients to referral hospitals. Provide necessary statistical data and documentation. Maintain inventory for the department. Assist in liaison with other health service providers within the Northern Health Authority.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: 08:00 to 20:00 (Rotating)

Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• CPR and ACLS Certification.
• Post basic training and/or one year recent related clinical experience in a critical care area or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the health center.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to start IV's.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts including coworkers, physicians, community agencies representatives, patients, and families.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
