Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Fort Nelson General Hospital.

The General Duty Nurse works under supervision from the Nurse Manager and is responsible for the provision of direct nursing care for patients. Duties are of a diverse nature involving developing patient care programs, administering treatments, monitoring progress and initiating interventions where required, providing educational and emotional support to patients and families and maintaining up to date, accurate records of patient history and status.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)

New Wage: As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is: $41.42 - $59.52/hour

Fort Nelson General Hospital is a nine acute bed hospital with seven long-term care beds. Services include laboratory, medical imaging, community counselling, basic obstetrics, and minor surgery. Visiting specialists in obstetrics, pediatrics, massage therapy, acupuncture and physiotherapy is also available. Fort Nelson also has dental clinics, pharmacies, a health unit, drug and alcohol programs, counselling services, child and youth programs, and several support groups and organizations.

Fort Nelson is located in the northernmost region of the Rocky Mountains and has a family and recreation-oriented community of 3,366 (2021) people. The country around Fort Nelson is vast and has an abundance of rivers, mountains, hot springs, and wildlife viewing for the adventure seeker. Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Current C.P.R., I.V. Therapy and Blood Glucose Monitoring Certificates mandatory.
• One (1) year recent experience in assigned area of responsibility preferred.
