VACANCY – FULL-TIME – REGISTERED MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST – MICROBIOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Valley Medical Laboratories is a private medical laboratory providing diagnostic services to the Okanagan Valley from Osoyoos to Lumby since 1969. With a reputation for providing timely, accurate results and excellent customer service, Valley Medical Laboratories employs over 150 team members across 14 locations. We are looking for a team member to join our growing organization.
Valley Medical Laboratories in Kelowna, BC is looking for a full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) for our Microbiology Department. This position, includes weekend rotations. The hours of the department fall between 7:00am and 7:00 pm.
The position requires excellent technical and organizational skills, demonstration of good judgment and decision-making skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and computer knowledge. In accordance with established methodology and departmental procedures, Microbiology Technologists perform a variety of laboratory tests involving numerous steps and techniques associated with processing specimens for the complete isolation, identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing of significant bacteriological organisms. Parasitology, Urinalysis and Semen analysis are also performed in the Microbiology Department.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited program in Medical Laboratory Technology
Active registration with CSMLS
Recent Microbiology experience
Experience in Parasitology, Urinalysis and/or Semen analysis would be an asset.
