Your New Career

Scout Talent is working with one of Canada's largest mining organizations for a Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) partnership!

To manage this contract, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Director of Strategic Recruitment to join our team. Operating on a hybrid work model, your time will be divided between Scout Talent and our partner's offices, both headquartered in downtown Vancouver, BC.

Leading a team of dedicated personnel, you will be responsible for managing recruitment projects, ensuring that goals are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and budget parameters.

Acting in a leadership capacity, some key accountabilities will be:

  • Working with the client and internal partners to oversee a team responsible for deliverables, on time and within budget
  • Managing a project team to include client sponsors, internal and external stakeholders, shared services, and third-party vendors, as required
  • Administering operational policies within the guidelines of the defined process, based on the total talent solution being implemented
  • Interpreting, executing, and recommending modifications to organizational policies and fostering continuous process improvement
  • Assigning tasks, developing, mentoring, and guiding team behaviours and operational rules, to provide quality service based on agreed expectations
  • Training other team members for specific project requirements, as required
  • Responsible for the successful outcome and key deliverables of all assigned projects
  • Managing, monitoring, and tracking project progress, deliverables, and quality assurance
  • Overseeing documentation changes as necessary, ensuring that the project team, client, and internal departments are informed
  • Managing customer relationships, preparing for and presenting at planning, kickoff, and ongoing status meetings
  • Other duties as required
About You

To qualify, you'll be someone with years of high-level recruitment, HR and project management experience, preferably in large organizations that require high-volume recruitment (any industry).

As a recruitment and account management expert overseeing this significant partnership, you will be perfect for this role if you have:

  • Advanced leadership skills
  • Experience managing large, complex accounts or projects
  • Knowledge of applicable labour laws, preferably in BC
  • Deep understanding of recruitment best practices and innovative techniques
  • Background/experience in mining or comparable heavy industry (e.g., oil & gas, construction, etc.)
  • Data-driven mindset to improve recruitment processes, with positive, quantifiable results
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Expertise in recruitment technologies such as VMS, ATS, HRIS, etc.
  • Proficient finance skills necessary for budget planning
