Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES
We have two exciting opportunities for a Senior Recreation Coordinator (term position with the possibility of becoming permanent) and a Recreation Program Facilitator and to join our team in North Vancouver on a full-time basis.
The Senior Recreation Coordinator will also report to the Manager, Recreation, and will make recommendations regarding the indoor/outdoor programming schedule developed by the Manager, Recreation.
The Recreation Program Facilitator will report to the Manager, Recreation, and will participate as a part of the indoor/outdoor programs team within the North Vancouver Recreation and Community Facilities Department.
In this role, you will instruct and coordinate classes, and while working with the department, you will design, coordinate, and deliver on a full year of recreational events and programs which encompass a broad range of age groups and capabilities.
For the role of Recreation Program Facilitator, we are seeking someone with a Certificate in Recreation Management, Outdoor Programs Management (or a Provincial Instructors Diploma or a related field may be considered) from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with 2 - 3 years of relevant experience. Candidates with Grade 12 plus 5 - 6 years of related experience or an ECE certificate in combination with related work experience may substitute for above education and experience.
