Receptionist / Administrative Assistant – 1 year maternity cover

Our client, a boutique property development company, is seeking a polished, professional and articulate individual to join their team as a Receptionist and Administrative Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of BC’s most respected developers.

The Role:

This is a 1 year temporary position covering a maternity leave. However, there is potential for a long term career opportunity for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication and time management skills and is a detail oriented and resourceful individual.

You are a detailed oriented individual who can demonstrate initiative, flexibility, teamwork and excellent judgement. You thrive on working in a fast paced and challenging environment.

Where is it based?

The head office is located in Burnaby, and is easily accessible via public transit or vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting all visitors to the office in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Managing incoming calls and providing customer service to clients
  • Providing administrative support to Customer Care, Marketing and Project Management
  • Preparing and formatting letters, spreadsheets and forms
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintaining office supply inventory and equipment
  • Maintaining filing system
  • Preparing bank deposits and bill payments
  • Organizing agenda for monthly staff meetings
  • Performing other duties as required


Must haves:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Minimum 5 years administrative experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to manage challenging and varied tasks
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork and organization skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to exercise confidentiality and to display enthusiasm and a positive outlook
  • The drive to provide exceptional customer service, to both in-house and external customers
  • A strong work ethic
