CNIB is a registered charity, passionately providing community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.
In this role, volunteers will provide community-based support by assisting with reception and shop duties at our CNIB Fraser Valley office (7-2630 Bourquin Cres West, Abbotsford BC)
Duties will depend on local projects and priorities but may include:
- Welcome and direct people coming into the office
- Answer phone and redirect calls
- When a caller or visitor needs more information, support, service, or counseling than you are able to give, refer them to staff
- Assist with Shop sales and processing
- Other duties as required
We are looking for volunteers to cover morning and afternoon shifts on weekdays (9am - 12pm and 1-4:30pm). We ask for a minimum 6-month commitment to this role.Qualifications:
Excellent phone manner and customer service skills. Reliable, organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite would be an asset.
Prior experience in a reception role is an asset, but not required. Training will be provided.Volunteer skills:
