The Lytton First Nation is currently recruiting a full time Receptionist/Administrative Support for the Justice, Prevention & Education department, located at 618 main street, (the side entrance of the Post Office Building) Lytton B.C. This position is classified as full-time permanent working under the support and supervision provided by the Justice Program Manager. The incumbents main responsibility is providing administrative support and other duties as required, with the goal of becoming trained in Legal aid support & as a Commissioner of Oath.
Ø Assumes reception duties including answering phones, taking messages, faxing, booking appointments, and welcoming community members and visitors.
Ø Provides clerical assistance to Justice staff in the areas of filing, photocopying, emailing and other related functions.
Ø Directs enquiries about services provided by LFN Justice to appropriate Justice staff.
Ø Provides computer assistance to Justice staff.
Ø Maintains comprehensive telephone log which records all incoming calls and requests for services.
Ø Maintains organized filing system which ensures efficient storage and retrieval of information.
Ø Performs word processing duties as required (e.g., general correspondence, preparation of statistical forms).
Ø Maintain tidiness and upkeep of reception area and legal aid area.
Ø Book Appointments
Ø Highest level of professionalism, confidentiality and non-judgemental attitude.
Ø Professional Business Administration training will be given preference or minimum two (2) years’ experience in administrative or legal work experience.
Ø Caring and trustworthy approachable manner
Ø Able to work independently & as a part of a team
Ø Good physical, mental and spiritual health
Ø Reliable self-starter
Ø Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Ø Excellent communication and written skills (spelling, punctuation, creative writing, etc.)
Ø Successful Recent Criminal Record and Child Welfare check
Salary and Remunerations:
Ø $14.00 an hour starting salary, with benefits after successful probationary period
