BC Cancer - Surrey is a full-service academic and teaching centre providing comprehensive cancer care as part of BC Cancer. It is adjacent to, and has a close working relationship with, Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH) and serves a diverse, multicultural, growing suburban community within Greater Vancouver. Surrey is located 30 kilometers from downtown Vancouver and offers ready access to all the recreational and cultural activities that the Greater Vancouver area has to offer.

With 12 Radiation Oncologists and 1 General Practitioner in Oncology, Surrey provides care for all tumor sites. The Surrey Centre is complete with CT simulation, an orthovoltage unit and 5 Varian linear accelerators (including 4 Truebeams, and a SRS/SBRT unit with micormultileaf collimation and a 6-degree of freedom couch). Our innovative physics, dosimetry and therapy staff are assets and Surrey has a full range of medical oncology, diagnostic and support services.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within a collaborative and interactive provincial Radiation Therapy program, committed to clinical excellence through evidence based care and knowledge generation. Numerous local and provincial opportunities exist to participate in outcome research using our population based model and resultant databases, providing an excellent opportunity for career advancement. Furthermore, the equipment and imaging provided at Surrey is state of the art and will ensure the candidate is up to date with modern treatment methods. Finally, it is also expected that the candidate will participate in undergraduate/graduate teaching in conjunction with our local academic environment.

In order to deliver quality care for our cancer patients, a knowledgeable, caring demeanour is expected and the ability to collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary environment is essential. Specific clinical duties will be dependent on the candidate's expertise, however current departmental needs include Breast, H&N (thyroid) and Lung. The start date is expected to be Summer 2020.

The successful applicant must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia and must have obtained a Fellowship in Radiation Oncology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or hold an equivalent qualification, by the time of appointment.
