EaglePicher Energy Products, ULC has been a leader in designing and manufacturing of batteries, battery management systems and energetic devices for the defense, aerospace, medical and commercial industries for nearly a century. EaglePicher’s Surrey, BC location, which specializes in the manufacture of specialty batteries used in implantable medical devices, has an opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our team.

The primary purpose of this position is to support Quality functions and ensure EaglePicher has a quality system which meets the requirements ISO13485. 

This position is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, day shift.  Weekend shifts may occasionally be required.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Incoming inspections, in-process testing and final inspections for several product lines
  • Assist in preparation and review of documentation related to receiving inspection
  • Perform in process inspections for assembly of hardware and testing processes
  • Review Quality related Production data to verify compliance to specifications
  • Complete incoming inspection/ in-process testing/final inspections for medical products
  • Ensure documentation is acceptable for product shipment
  • Conduct SPC/SQC analysis for in-process and production data
  • Participate in validation activities such as software validation, Gage R&R, etc.
  • Evaluate inspection fixtures, test equipment, programming, tooling, packaging and other associated equipment and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Initiate and establish innovative productivity and lead continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance to document control system
  • Participate and / conducte internal audits

To succeed in this position, you must:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident


  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 standards for quality control
  • Can-do attitude – you always find a way to get things done.
  • Effective communicator – you can clearly get your message across verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods is an asset
  • Detail oriented to accurately review data and document problem resolutions
