Gravit-e Technologies is seeking a full time QA tester. This position is well suited for an individual with a strong desire to learn and expand their testing and analytical skills. In this role you will be working to support our development team across a wide range of different projects across different industries. Currently, we are working on projects in areas including business intelligence, SaaS, healthcare and automation, among others.

  • This is a full time position located in the downtown Vancouver area.

  • This position is open for junior or intermediate applicants.  

  • This position offers significant opportunities for education and advancement.

  • While there will be an opportunity to telecommute part of the time, you will be spending a majority of your time working from our office.

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional and integration testing for various projects

  • Determine whether or not the test results fulfill the established requirements, and notify the development team of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies

  • Assist in reproducing and troubleshooting defects or other issues

  • Cross-platform testing to ensure software behaves consistently across multiple platforms and devices

  • Develop unit tests

  • Develop automated tests to increase test coverage and testing efficiency

  • Define test plans for new applications or software modules

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • If applying for an intermediate role: 2+ years of relevant experience in a QA role

  • If applying for a junior role: At least 4 months experience working in a QA role, preferably in a web development environment

  • Working knowledge of SQL.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Familiarity with test automation tools

  • Experience testing in a web development environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with at least one unit testing framework

  • Familiarity with Linux

  • Professional experience defining test plans

  • Experience testing native mobile applications

  • Must have a desire for continuous growth and be a quick learner

  • Proven attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Self-motivated and willing to take the initiative

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure/deadlines

  • Excellent analytical and assessment skills

  • Able to work both independently and in a team-based environment
