Quality Assurance Supervisor

A manufacturing and supplier of meat snack products in Langley is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join their team. Responsible for maintaining and revising QFS programs. This position will ensure the plant is compliant with regulatory standards by means of communication, training, and monitoring. 


  • The QA Supervisor provides direction to the QA/QC department. 

  • Set up SOPs and deliver training to the operators in compliance with CFIA, HACCP, GMP and BRC.

  •  Work to ensure that the production or manufacturing processes and products created meet the quality specifications that are laid down by the company. 

  • They will conduct internal audits and report deviations and suggest corrective actions.

  •  Provides leadership in the development, management, implementation and re-assessment of company Quality Assurance Programs and Policies (HACCP, SOP, SSOP, GMP, BRC, etc.)

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation

  • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Conduct risk analyses, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews, as applicable under the direction of the Director of QA

  • Updating HACCP/SSOP programs at least annually.

  • Ensure samples are collected for analysis at the laboratory and onsite.  Review results as received.

  • Coordinate end of shelf life studies

  • Approve finished products for onward shipment to the market

  • Follow Corrective/Preventive Action processes and rigorous root cause analysis

  • Coordinate the customer/consumer complaint investigations to analyze trends, coordinate and ensure follow through on corrective actions

  • Liaison with CFIA, respond to and provide responses to inspection reports and non-conformities.

  • Attend and participate in CFIA and third party audits as required

  • Report and make suggestions on Food Safety and quality concerns to management and support continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and standards

  • Participate in training programs for relevant food safety & HACCP procedures, product quality requirements, equipment & process technology

  • Properly mentor and coach the QA team and take disciplinary action when needed

 Necessary Skills:

  • B.SC. or college diploma in Food Science or related fields technology fields and the equivalent combination of education

  • 2+ years relevant work experience

  •  2+ years supervisory experience

  • HACCP Certification or training

  • Experience in food and/or meat processing industries, knowledge or experience in BRC and/or SQF.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.

Salary: 60 – 70K base on experience
