Purchasing Manager

Salary:  $90,000 - $100,0000 plus bonus

Location:  Lower Mainland

This organization is a wholesale distributor of equipment, with operations throughout Western Canada and are experiencing strong year over year growth. The Purchasing Manager will be focussed on delivering company profitability and customer satisfaction through agile just in time delivery of materials. Keys to success in this role will be maintaining excellent vendor relationships and building partnerships to enable top quality pricing and timing of purchases. Moreover, duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Managing a team of 5+ purchasers with over 20,000 active sku's
  • Inventory management for all multiple locations in Canada
  • Increase inventory control of product in warehouse locations
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend trade shows and meet with suppliers (at least twice per year, possibly more)
  • Need to be hands-on and jump in to buying in busy season
  • Responsible for the organizations major accounts (buyers)
  • Act as a interaction lead with Accounting and HR departments
  • Coordinate and manage an annual spend of $100M+




To be considered for this role you must have

  • 8+ years’ experience in inventory management in mid-sized company
  • 5+ years management experience
  • 5+ years in wholesale/industrial distribution purchasing experience
  • Excellent background in managing inventory, forecasting and planning ideally within a distribution environment
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Purchasing leadership experience including hiring, developing and evaluations of direct reports
  •  CPP or SCMP designation an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills





  • $90,000 - $100,000 annual base salary
