Overview

Are you a psychologist or a new psychology graduate with experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological aspects of trauma and physical conditions? Do you have a thorough understanding of psychological reactions to workplace injury and workplace stressors? We're looking for registered psychologists and new psychology graduates eligible for registration to join our dynamic Mental Health Services team. You'll work with teams specializing in psychological trauma, serious injuries, high-risk situations, brain injury, occupational disease, chronic pain, and difficult work relations.

You can make a difference as part of our interdisciplinary case-management teams, focusing on helping injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work. We offer a flexible Monday-to-Friday work week, a full- or part-time schedule, and a choice of work location in offices across British Columbia.

What you'll do

As a psychology advisor you will:
  • Engage in collaborative, proactive, individual case consultations
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Conduct file reviews and write clinical opinions
  • Plan and monitor assessment and treatment services
  • Assess injured workers to provide diagnostic, causality options, and recovery recommendations
  • Offer educational presentations to staff to promote an understanding of psychological aspects of workplace injuries and return to work best practices

  • Provide expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological reactions to workplace injury and trauma
  • Solve problems in an interdisciplinary, case-management setting
  • Liaise with healthcare providers

Your experience and educational background:
  • Experience providing direct psychological/neuropsychological assessment and treatment services
  • Training and experience in conducting psychological assessments and/or treatment in an institutional context

Our registered psychology advisor position requires:
    • A graduate degree in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, or counseling psychology
    • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of BC (CPBC), or eligibility for an expedient registration with CPBC
    • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably in disability management, workers' compensation, insurance, medical-legal setting, or healthcare

Our psychology advisor position requires:
    • A graduate degree in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, or counselling psychology
    • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, or eligibility for post-internship registration with the CPBC
    • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience (can include experience gained during graduate training), preferably in disability management, workers' compensation, insurance, a medical-legal setting, or healthcare
