Proposal Assistant – 1-2 Month Contract – Immediate Start

Our client is looking for a temporary Proposal Assistant to join their team on a 1-2 month contract.

The Role

The primary function of the Proposal Assistant is to assist the Proposal & Communications Specialist with proposal preparation and resumes.

As the ideal candidate for this position you have 2-5 years experience preparing proposals, reports, or writing grants in a professional environment. You have exceptional attention to detail, an eye for accuracy, strong organizational skills, and can consistently meet deadlines. You thrive in a professional environment where strong communication skills are of utmost important, and you can work cooperatively and productively with others.

Located in Burnaby

Responsibilities

  • Assist with proposal preparation duties and administrative tasks
  • Review proposals, customize templates, and complete proposal forms
  • Assist with standardizing and customizing resumes and updating corporate documents and forms
  • Assist in preparing periodic communications to staff
  • Assistant with general administrative duties as required
  • Covers the duties at the front desk as required; greeting visitors, answering phones, booking meeting rooms, organizing couriers, etc.

Must Haves

  • Post secondary education required with minimum 2-5 years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Document layout skills; integrating graphics, font selection, heading styles, cover page, etc.
  • Excellent writing skills including spelling, grammar, clarity and overall writing quality
  • Strong time management skills; able to manage multiple competing demands and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner

 

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Communications or another writing focused program is desired.
  • Strong technical writing skills an asset; skilled at condensing detailed technical writing into concise, interesting text suitable for non-technical readers
  • Creative writing skills; able to write for a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of creating and compressing graphics/photographs for web
