JOB DESCRIPTION Duties:

* Prepares status reports and provides inputs to the team's scorecard and dashboards

* Provides advice and guidance to internal and external teams of Project Management professionals

* Supports teams delivering projects ranging from under one million to over fifty million dollars

* Acts as a project manager for low risk, medium impact/ complexity projects or as a task manager for higher risk/ impact/ complexity projects to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the department

* Highly knowledgeable on standards, policies, practices and procedures, contributing to the development of standards as well as enforcing/modeling standards

* Coordinates the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards for the formal management of contracts including both the provision and receipt of various services

* Leads the implementation of a Continuous Improvement team made up of individuals across organizational boundaries

* Exercises independent judgment in analysis and problem solving on highly complex and medium scope problems, challenging guidelines when necessary

* Leads programs/ projects within a function and acts as a technical leader/ expert for a specific set of professional skills internally and externally; provides regular and significant coaching/ mentoring, acts as a role model and engages in self-development through personal leadership

* Team work, collaboration across business lines and delivering results are essential elements to be successful in this role

Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, business, environmental sciences or economics. Candidates who have a technical Diploma plus several years of relevant Project Management experience will also be considered. * Courses in Project Management (PMI certification as a PMP is preferred). * Minimum six years of progressively more responsible Project Management experience within an electric utility or similar industrial environment. * Intermediate level knowledge in a specific field such as engineering, environmental sciences or business to provide technical coordination and leadership. * Good knowledge of project management practices and procedures. * Demonstrated leadership ability. * Good communication, facilitation, negotiation and interpersonal skills. * Good planning, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. * Lesser qualified candidates are encouraged to apply and may still be considered

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain the following requirements in good standing: Driver's License Type = Class 5

The following would be considered an asset:

* Keen grasp of various scheduling schemes particularly around contracted activities with milestone payments * Demonstrated experience with project scheduling theory and software * Good understanding of the relationship between contract payment and the corresponding schedule milestone referenced in the contract * Ability to run reports from various source systems and consolidate into one comprehensive report * A strong project management background complemented by demonstrable experience in scheduling and cost control will be an advantage * Excellent knowledge of SAP, Primavera P6 and Sharepoint * Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel; experienced user of MS Applications including Word, Access and Visio * Keeping commitments, delivering on promises, resolving problems are some of the essential behaviours required for this job
