Job Description Summary

The Program Manager, Services for Cell Therapy is part of STEMCELL's growing Custom Services division in the Business Operations Department. Custom Services is responsible for managing opportunities and projects focused on delivering customized products and specialized service solutions in order to meet unique customer needs, most notably in the cell therapy and diagnostics markets.

In particular, the Program Manager, Services for Cell Therapy will be initially responsible for supporting customers in the qualification of STEMCELL products as ancillary materials, evaluating and triaging incoming customer inquiries associated with new opportunities, championing key initiatives, and managing internal cross-functional teams and activities to facilitate the design and execution of resulting customer-driven projects and initiatives. Furthermore, the Program Manager, Services for Cell Therapy will be responsible for auditing the business processes and program, making recommendations for improvements, and managing the implementation of selected action plans. Ultimately, the Program Manager, Services for Cell Therapy will leverage business analysis and project management skills to ensure effective delivery of required business outcomes.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in the qualification of STEMCELL products as ancillary materials for cell therapy manufacturing by providing regulatory and custom manufacturing services.
  • Triage and provide initial assessment of incoming customer inquiries and Sales opportunities.
  • Manage customer-driven initiatives and projects, most commonly associated with the use of STEMCELL's products as ancillary materials for cell therapy manufacturing, including complex custom product design and custom manufacturing initiatives.
  • Work closely with Business Operations management, Business Development, and Sales to generate proposals and execute service contracts; ensure the appropriate legal agreements are executed at the appropriate time when pursuing opportunities.
  • Work alongside Custom Services leadership to standardize business reporting, and create and maintain program data and dashboards.
  • In the course of carrying out these responsibilities, identify areas for streamlining and improving the workflow and execute business process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide input on the design and facilitate corporate training to key stakeholders across the company, as required.
  • Establish effective and productive relationships with key internal stakeholders, including but not limited to: Sales, Quality,Regulatory, Operations & Supply Chain, Business Development, and Research & Development.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of STEMCELL products, key markets, emerging technologies and trends, customers, collaborators, and competitors globally.
  • Ensure STEMCELL intellectual property and confidential information is protected at all times when pursuing opportunities.

  • Minimum BSc degree in the biological sciences or related field, with a graduate degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Operations, Quality, or other position with a proven track record of managing complex relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and project or program management experience.
  • Experience in building reports that inform leadership on historical results, current performance, and expected results in the future.
  • Experience in New Product Introduction processes and Product Life Cycle Management is an asset.
  • Strong interest in and understanding of the cellular therapy market is an asset.
  • Regulatory and Quality Assurance knowledge is highly valuable, including but not limited to: USP guidelines, ISO standards, and GMP regulations, as they relate to STEMCELL products and ancillary materials.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a broad audience.
  • Proven ability to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven ability to mu lti-task and work independently on several projects at the same time.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills.
  • Flexible, with a good tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Ability to comprehend basic business, financial, legal, and intellectual property concepts.
  • Ability to study and learn independently.
