Surrey, BC
Full Time

A well established, premium cabinet manufacturer serving the vibrant lower mainland market is expanding production to meet demand from across BC and requires an experienced Production Wood Finisher with a solid knowledge of finishing systems.

Centrally located in the lower mainland, this fully equipped cabinet production facility is well positioned for growth in 2021. Many homeowners have decided to upgrade their home environment to suit their current focus on home based activities and remote work. This has resulted in strong demand for locally made high quality kitchens. As a result we are looking for a qualified and experienced Finisher that can participate in production and monitor our systems and methods to ensure we are meeting our quality and production goals on a daily basis.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Monitor all technical details from materials selection and preparation to equipment settings.
  • Learn, apply and monitor all technical details that apply to both spray booth and finishing line production from materials selection, ordering and preparation to equipment settings, quality control and daily maintenance.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and preventative maintenance.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ of experience as a finisher in a production environment.
  • Experience working with solid and composite wood products in a cabinet shop, millwork shop or furniture plant is essential.
  • Additional training will be provided on our specific system but you must already be an accomplished sprayer with directly related finished wood products experience.
  • Please note in your application any formal training received from suppliers, distributors, industry trainers or college/apprenticeship programs.
  • NOTE: less experienced candidates are encouraged to apply as trainees or as support staff to fill in the long term requirements of this department.

This is a stable, full time, permanent, day shift only position offering an attractive hourly pay rate and a good benefits program.

If this job opportunity fits your qualifications and you are interested in making a move in the coming month or so please apply promptly with a current resume outlining your capabilities. Phone, online/video and in person interviews (where appropriate, and in a spacious area, to maintain safety) are ongoing until the position is filled – ideally in the next few weeks.

Please ensure that your contact information is up to date and complete so that we can contact you directly to schedule an interview. Resumes, and all interviews, are held in confidence. Only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.

You MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application to be considered for this position.
