Our Quesnel River Pulp division in BC has an opportunity for a:

Production Shift Supervisor

The Production Shift Supervisor will lead a crew in our Production department on a 4x4 shift basis. Quesnel River Pulp is the largest Market softwood BCTMP mill in the world. Forward thinking ownership, capital investment, continuous improvement, and product innovation has contributed to QRP’s longevity and very bright future. The successful candidate should be interested in future growth opportunities within the company.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring the safe, efficient operation of a 1200tpd BCTMP Mill
  • Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting employees
  • Maintain positive morale amongst employees and foster good management-employee relations
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is a priority; leading by example and ensuring all crew members follow policies, procedures and WSBC regulations
  • Assist in the process and capital improvement process
  • Lead and/or facilitate crew safety meetings, toolbox talks, and crew discussions

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong interpersonal, decision making, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Flexible availability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Belief in the West Fraser goals and values and a desire to embody them as a supervisor
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Computer skills
  • Desire to progress, learn, grow, and succeed

Considered an asset:
  • Industrial supervisory experience
  • Mechanical pulp mill experience
