Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator (Operations Maintenance Coordinator) will facilitate the operational and maintenance activities of a 1200tpd BCTMP Mill. This position will report to the Production Manager and will be the main liaison between the two departments, responsible for coordinating the scheduling and execution of most work within the mill. West Fraser believes strongly in promoting from within and we are looking for individuals who are interested in a full-time long-term career. The successful candidate should be interested in future growth opportunities within the company.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Maximizing annual production through the coordination of timely maintenance activities and directing Operations and Maintenance Supervisors & Planners.
  • Ensuring production targets are met by identifying and removing bottlenecks.
  • Prioritizing work, challenging scope, and ensuring Mill operational efficiency.
  • Maintaining positive morale amongst employees and foster good management-employee relations.
  • Be a champion for Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Assist in the process and capital improvement process.

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong interpersonal, decision making, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Belief in the West Fraser goals and values and a desire to embody them as a leader.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated computer skills specifically with Microsoft Office, Maximo & TKPro.
  • Desire to progress, learn, grow, and succeed.

Considered an asset:
  • Industrial supervisory experience
  • Mechanical pulp mill experience
